Here are 20 photos to inspire you to visit Athens!
Athens, the capital and largest city in Greece is often overlooked for Greece’s stunning islands. And with so many of them (over 1200!!) it’s easy to see why! However, our trip to Athens was an absolute eye-opener. Athens is not only beautiful, metropolitan, historic, but also a really great place to explore. As it is one of the world’s oldest cities, there’s plenty of history to check out – namely, the Acropolis – a key landmark.
Did you know: Athens takes its name from patron goddess (of wisdom) Athena?!
We visited the first week of June and found the temperature to be already a little warm, but that’s expected in Greece! So for us, the 32 degree days were welcomed. As for business? Yes there were tourists but this was the perfect time to go to Athens and avoid the throngs of tourists, as it is just before season kicks off in Greece (and the islands)!
