I am a self-confessed foodie and I love me some brunch. Here is a short list of my favourites list of Best Brunch Spots In London – after painstakingly trying and testing many different locations.

THE 10 BEST BRUNCH SPOTS IN LONDON

Jackson & Rye

Jackson & Rye has “good home cooked American style food all day long with a great bar and relaxed environment.”

I would describe the menu (especially the Breakfast one) as Classic american – done a little fancy! The bacon comes in slabs. Yes – slabs. And their Eggs Benedict comes with a full avocado as your ‘english muffin’ – healthy fats over carbs any day!

Within the perimeter of London, Jackson & Rye can be found in Chiswick, Soho, and London’s financial district. Their lunch and dinner menu also rock – but as a huge fan of their brunch menu I urge you to check it out asap!

Beany Green

Recently I checked out Beany Green, a collection of six unique Australian inspired cafes in Central London serving great coffee, amazing all day brunch, sexy salads and beautiful cocktails. My friends and I couldn’t resist the Bottomless Brunch, consuming endless delicious bloody mary’s! We were also given freshly squeezed orange juice and 2 bottles of prosecco to create our own mimosas!

With 2 courses on this bottomless brunch, I had both a hot meal and cold meal. The hot – consisting of poached eggs, back bacon, sausage, mushrooms, chilli pesto and avocado on charcoal bread was a real winner. The cold – their “famous” banana bread sandwich which was AMAZING. Delicious banana bread loaded with mascarpone, fresh berries, flaked almonds & honey. Heavenly doesn’t even begin to describe.

Dishoom

Dishoom is an Indian restaurant with numerous locations around London and boasts the award for Best London Restaurant for 2015 & 16!

When I found out they had a breakfast menu I was very intrigued. An Indian restaurant doing breakfast? Their breakfast menu is breakfast as we know it but with an Indian twist! I had the Kejriwal, which was basically fried eggs on cheesy toast. However, what set it apart was the Indian spices used within the recipe! My taste-buds were singing as I ate the tastiest eggs on toast to date!

They also do other traditional english items; for instance a bacon sarnie – except inside of a naan bread roll. YUM.

Caravan

Caravan is an all day breakfast/brunch restaurant AND coffee roastery! If you are a coffee hound, then this place is an absolute must for you.

Caravan has 3 locations, Exmouth Market, Kings Cross and Bank. Kings Cross is the largest of the locations – it’s huge and has a really industrial vibe, being housed in an old granary. Even though it is a massive place, there is usually a short wait for a table. However, well worth the wait because the food is divine. The only problem if which menu item to choose!

My tip? The Turkish Eggs.

Duck & Waffle

Duck & Waffle is special. It is also the highest 24/7 restaurant in London – topping the Heron Tower by Liverpool St!

Whilst there is an extensive and delicious menu, I really didn’t even look through it as I knew what I wanted to order – their signature dish of Duck & Waffle! The dish consists of crispy duck leg confit, fried duck egg, mustard maple syrup on a glorious waffle.

To drink? Well, it couldn’t get more breakfast-y than the whiskey cocktail infused with Bacon and Caramel! Absolutely delicious!

The service, view and food were all second to none and I would love to eat again at Duck & Waffle! Important – if you’d like to eat here I recommend you make a booking!

Breakfast Club

I first heard of The Breakfast Club when I was still living in Australia – it has that much of a reputation! When I moved to London, it was the first place I ate brunch at and it remained a regular favourite. Their breakfast options are varied and all are delicious and the menu boats 4 different kinds of Eggs Benedict!

The Breakfast Club’s reputation means that you may have to wait in a line to get in for your meal – but you will be served quickly. Not to mention your taste-buds will be thrilled that you had enough patience to wait! With 8 locations around London – there’s never a Breakfast Club too far.

Balthazar

Balthazar is located in Covent Garden and is classified as a French bistro. The food is sensationally good and the decor is what I would call “everyday fancy”. Balthazar is always very busy, but the layout and design of the space uses partitions rising just above eye-height so you can’t see the buzz directly.

I would eat here again and again – it is always a pleasant experience, both with the surroundings but also the wait-staff and of course it goes without saying, the food.

Lantana

Another Aussie establishment that’s won food awards left right and centre. Found in 3 locations in zone 1 London, Lantana know how to serve up one of the best breakfasts you’ll find. The smashed avocado with bacon & a poached egg was a glorious mess! With no idea how to eat it, I went at it anyway, practically wiping my plate clean shortly thereafter.

The numerous flat whites I’ve had here are also some of the best I’ve tasted. Now that I’m thinking about this place – I can’t wait to go back!

Lantana has also created a CookBook worth checking out! You can order it on Amazon by clicking on the Cookbook image below.

Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings

Located just off of Exmouth Market, this place is a real find! The space is both quirky and chic and has a divine breakfast menu. You can also add bottomless bloody’s and Bellini’s!

Their numerous eggs benedict options includes a mexican-style option (pictured) featuring guacamole and chorizo sausage – absolutely yummy! My brunch partner and I also tried their drop scones – which are not so much scones, but definitely pancakes! Albeit scrumptious ones – no complaints here.

Providores & Tapa Room

This wonderful place is located in Marylebone village and brings a contemporary take to breakfast. Started by a Kiwi (New Zealander) and featuring New Zealand wine too (my personal favourite!), it is an absolute must-visit of places to eat in London. As it has certainly gained a reputation – you most likely WILL be waiting outside until there is a free table for you.

Not to worry, they’ll bring you a coffee outside while you wait and once you are inside, you’ll be eating in no time!

Tip – make a booking!
