First off, Paris is always a good idea. Second, a Paris walking tour, whether paid, free, or self-guided is is a must! It’s too good of a place not too see as much of it as possible!
Getting to Paris from within Europe is best done via train. The Eurostar leaves from central London (Kings Cross St Pancras) and in 2 hours gets you into central Paris (Gare Du Nord) which is much easier and better for your wallet, than having to find your way from the airport.
From Amsterdam it is 3 hours on the Thalys, and is 5 1/2 hours from Munich!
